Bemerkungen/Beschreibung
Universität Wien, Dissertation: 1996, 103 pp In the present work the dynamic variations of ozone in the stratosphere in middle latitudes are studied. In the first part the seasonal distribution of the total ozone and the vertical ozone profile above Austria are discussed. The data from the stratospheric ozone measurements on Hoher Sonnblick, Salzburg, are used. The physical and dynamic reasons for the shorttime variations (day to day variations) of the stratospheric total ozone are analyzed with ground weather charts, meteorological charts for the 30 hPa level and the 500 hPa level, the TOMS-satellite data and the total ozone values measured on Hoher Sonnblick. It is shown, that the variations of the total ozone value depend on the height of the tropopause and on the stratospheric weather conditions. These can have different reasons and the total ozone values are influenced in the middle latitudes from polar air masses, as well as from subtropical airmasses. That means, the total ozone value can be changed by horizontal and vertical motions. The total ozone is also dependent on the stratospheric temperature. And beside all volcanic and anthropogenic influences are active, which cause temporary and longterm ozone depletion. In the last part of the work the daily changes and variations of the total ozone in the stratosphere are discussed and their magnitude is presented.
