Linzer biologische Beiträge
, 35(1): p 313-373 The Apoidea (excl. Bombini) of the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern (Carinthia, Austria) are presented according to altitude and their altitudinal distribution within the alps is critically revised. Faunistic publications from the following regions (especially central alps) are used for comparison with the Apoidea from the Nationalpark Hohe Tauern, Carinthia, Austria: Switzerland: Nationalpark Graubünden (BEAUMONT 1958). Autonomous Province Bozen/Suedtirol: Ortler and Dolomiten mountains (lg. Ebmer). Austria: Silvretta (KUHLMANN & TUMBRINCK 1996); xerotherm biotopes of the upper Inn valley (lg. Josef Gusenleitner; STOECKL 1998, 2000); Oetztaler mountains (SCHEDL 1982); Venediger mountains in eastern Tyrol (lg. Kofler, Ebmer). The second part of this publication focuses on faunistic records of Apidea in the vinegrowing regions around Krems north of the Danube valley. Species of eastern steppe regions reach their western distribution limits there. The whole distribution area is presented for each species for a better assessment of the local distribution within Austria.
