We aim to detect the main causes of spatio-temporal changes in time intervals of 5 to 20 years from the regional scale to the entire Pannonian area by re-recoring phytosociological relevés on the exact place of the record taken in the former years. We deal with the expansion of Juncus maritimus in the salt marshes of the Neusiedler See with a focus on its origin. The insectological part aims to detect the ecological relationships of orthopteran assemblages indicating natural salt habitats.
